Ernie’s Special – $14 Good flavors, chicken was covered in cheese and creama. Guacamole is very good. Tortilla soup – $5 Good size bowl for the price and it tastes great.

Blu Ginger Thai Restaurant

The first course consisted of soup and an tiny eggroll. The main dish I ordered was of my favorites – Spicy Sweet Basil $8 with a spicy level of 1. It wasn’t very spicy, but what can I expect for a "1". Brown rice costs $1 more.

Yummies Cafe

This is a small coffee shop on the southern end of the island. The menu combines bistro food with some Mexican flare. The outside seating is covered and offers a view of the causeway, bay and Padre Blvd.

Chicken Fajitas – $9 and below average taste. Their salsa was very spicy.

Located on the west of South Padre Island, TX with a great view of the sunset. I had the Topical Salad which was below average for what you got. There were too many pecans and they were just plain pecans. The large chunks of feta cheese was overwhelming. Waiter was terrible – had to wait [...]

Driving to South Padre Island

Watch out for the state troopers. While drive from Dallas to South Padre Island for my first windsurfing camp, I started to notice several state troopers with lots of cars pulled over on the side of the road.
